Digital_Flotsam is a collaborative living image archive, contributed to by Igor Prato Luna and Alma Stritt. The archive consists of 2220 images [as of 25.05.26]. Images are included for their ability to convey urgency, despite being ordinary, unremarkable and partially or fully untied from original context, source and memory. Images are grouped and are presented digitally as amorphous clumps analogous to the tidally deposited debris (flotsam) that emerges periodically at tidelines. Digital_Flotsam is currently published online twice weekly, as the wash-up of EBB and FLOW TIDES.
The Digital_Flotsam archive additionally debuted in a physical capacity to a public audience in 2025, as part of the group show ‘The Right Map’ organised by Ghost Art School and Liverpool Independents Biennial 2025). Two bodies of work were exhibited, ‘AN ARCHIVE OF URGENT IMAGES - versions 01 and 02’ (one copy with filenames and one without) and the interactive piece ‘THE IMAGE DISPENSER.’
