Bio/Ecology
2018-2021
During my time at Newcastle University I chose to specialise my focus on life existing within ecological margins. ‘Intertidal’
describes the habitat where land meets sea, an estuary is where fresh water meets salt water. Though I no longer investigate these themes in the same approach, my prior degree continues to inform my practice. For context my thesis paper is attached right. It was discussed within, that plastics cultivate biofilms, creating suspended plastic-attached worlds or ‘plastispheres.’ Newcastle University has an ongoing research program dedicated to understanding the movement of plastispheres around the world.
